Never have people been so interested about what they are putting on their skin in the form of skincare, as much as of late. We are all now beginning to take notice of what ingredients are actually in the skincare products we use each day, and we now have so many resources to learn about the harmful ingredients that could be lurking in our products. I recently invited natural beauty expert Belinda Hughes, editor of Natural Beauty Expert and a professional beauty therapist who is passionate about natural and organic beauty products to share her own beauty routine, for those who are curious to see what products the experts actually use themselves!
Belinda is a professional beauty therapist who is changing the face of healthy skin. She has a passion for natural beauty, toxic free health and well-being.
Drawing on her extensive experience from over 10 years with natural beauty products and day spas, Belinda has combined that experience into her very first skin clinic.
Along with her love for writing and training, she also educates consumers and industry professionals on what natural beauty means. Belinda’s background in communication, education and professional skincare was the perfect launch pad for her online magazine Natural Beauty Expert.
Belinda will help her followers navigate their way around what natural beauty is and the best way to get it. It’s expert advice combined with the hottest trends.
Belinda says “I often get complimented on my skin, which is a good thing, or I’d be in trouble as a skincare professional! But when people ask me about my skin, they can’t believe it’s all due to a healthy lifestyle and organic skincare. In fact, I’ve only used natural and organic skincare since my late 20s. My skin is better now then it was in my mid 20s (10 years ago!).
I believe in the the importance of routine, and mo matter how tired I am or how late it is I ALWAYS wash my face before bed. Even though I only wear mineral makeup and it wouldn’t be devastating if I slept in it once, I stick to my routine. The key to an effective routine, is well, routine. Being diligent with your skin care is half the battle, getting slack and skipping cleansing or using a serum sabotages all your hard work.”
Clean skin is healthy skin. I cleanse twice in the evenings with an Organic Spa Cream Cleanser, if I’ve been wearing makeup, and a few nights a week I wipe over my skin with The Beauty Chef’s Probiotic Skin Refiner.
A few evenings a week I use a Saya Skincare AHA serum for combination skin, which keeps blackheads at bay and give a gentle exfoliation. After letting that soak in, I alternate my Organic Spa Intense Moisture Moisturiser with a face oil (I use various brands).
I cleanse with my Organic Spa Cream Cleanser. A couple of times a week I do a light buff with Vanessa Megan Prebiotic and C Brightening Exfoliator and I use my Vitamin C Serum from Organic Spa and my Organic Spa Intense Moisture Moisturizer.
Depending on what’s happening or if it’s the weekend I use my Organic Spa tinted moisturizer or Inika Organic liquid foundation for my base. I use Au Cosmetics stick blush and bronzer for a little highlight, and to set my mineral makeup, I’ll use a natural hydrating mist.
