Here’s why peptides deserve to part of your skincare routine

As a major Susan Yara fan, I was beyond excited when her debut skincare range Natrium recently launched in Australia as I was lucky enough to be sent some products to celebrate. These included the cleansers (the Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil - seriously amazing!) and also the Multi-Peptide Moisturizer.

Peptides seem to be a new buzz word within the beauty community, but I have to be honest - I had no idea what a peptide actually was. This lead me to touch base with a handful of skincare experts who shared that essentially, peptides are fragments of proteins, and are made up of amino acids. When combined and formulated in certain ways, they make proteins which are the building blocks of collagen and elastin which are the fibers which keep our skin plump and healthy. In doing so, peptides work to build up a stronger skin barrier - another buzz word of late!

Natrium skincare have included some incredible peptides worth knowing in the Multi-Peptide Moisturizer including the below:

  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-7 - for softer fine lines and wrinkles
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 - to help visibly improve the appearance of skin
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 - works to boost collagen production naturally.

There is no wrong way to use peptides, morning and/or night is perfect - too much of a good thing is never enough, right?

Are you using products with peptides? What do you think of this buzzy new skincare ingredient?
