Makeup or Skincare?

Generally, we can separate cosmetics in two categories – makeup or skincare, but jane iredale has blurred that line considerably by combining antioxidants, vitamins and non-comedogenic minerals into their luxurious line of pure mineral makeup, without compromising performance, coverage, application or texture. With chemical-free UVA & UVB protection, the soothing and healing benefits are perfect for those with sensitivities, and is recommended by plastic surgeons, dermatologists and skin care professionals worldwide. In short, the jane iredale makeup range is a true extension of skincare.

jane iredale is a certified cruelty-free cosmetics brand, recognized by both Leaping Bunny and PETA for their voluntary commitment to no animal testing at every stage of product development and manufacturing.
Seven jane iredale products have earned the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation. To earn this seal, a manufacturer must provide scientific data showing that its products sufficiently and safely aid in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin.

The nature of high quality minerals is to interact with light, which is what gives them their celebrated soft-focus effect. These minerals bind together upon application so they resist running, creasing and smearing and can be removed swiftly and easily. All products are safety, allergy, clinically and dermatologist tested to ensure avoidance of any ingredients that may be skin sensitizers, and jane iredale make a conscious effort to include anti-irritant ingredients in our products because they believe that this can measurably contribute to skin health. Parabens are excluded in all products, as are nano-size minerals – a big plus in my eyes in the area of transparency with ingredients. With a range of shades for all skin types, I believe this is the makeup range you need to try in 2018.

I’m a huge fan of the a handful of jane iredale products, namely the D20 Hydration Spray, Pure Lash Lengthening Mascara and the GreatShape™ Contour Kit. The D20 Hydration Spray is a facial spritz based on Ylang Ylang that helps to hydrate and plump skin cells, sets minerals for a long last smooth finish, and contains ingredients to soothe and protect the skin.  This is a complete staple of this warmer weather we’re having, and I’m using on the daily.

The Pure Lash Lengthening Mascara has a dual-edged brush as you can see in the image above, which allows you to control the product applied, while the formula conditions and strengthens lashes. I find this mascara is easily buildable for lashes that are natural to gorgeous and voluminous. This mascara is available in jet black, brown black and navy. The GreatShape™ Contour Kit is a newest addition to my makeup stash, providing three matte shades (for contouring, blush and highlighting) to sculpt and enhance features, and is available in two shades, Warm or Cool. I have to mention the stunning packaging too of course, it’s a sleek mirrored rose gold compact – beyond words. Oh, the PureMoist®Lipsticks are beautiful also, try the shade Gwen!

Next I want to try the foundation, as each product contains four important functions in one: foundation, concealer, sunscreen and active skin care benefits – enough said really, right?

Have you tried jane iredale makeup, do you have a favourite? Let me know in the comments!
