Why You Need Rosehip Oil in Your Skincare Routine

Everyone knows and loves Rosehip Oil and it’s really no surprise. Rosehip Oil offers benefits such as reducing the appearance of stretchmarks and scars, improving skin hydration and/or dry skin, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting the healing of sun damaged skin and reduction the appearance of skin pigmentation all whilst promoting silky and soft skin texture. Phew – a multi -tasking product fo’ sure!

My pick of the bunch right now is Rosehip Plus, who stock  several size different jars of Rosehip Oil in a 30ml, 50ml and additionally a 15ml roll on, perfect for specific areas of concerns i.e scars.

‘Our Rosehip Oil is an all-natural, organic and cold pressed seed oil rich in phytochemicals and nutrients that help to moisturize, protect and strengthen the skin. Rosehip Oil is rich in Vitamin A (Retinol) and Vitamin C, essential fatty acids Omega-3, 6 & 9 as well as Lycopene and Beta-Carotene.’

I have been using this oil for about a month now, in various ways. Any time my skin feels that it’s heading towards the drier side, I mix in a little oil with my day/night cream for a hydration boost. I’ve used it to smooth down my freshly washed flyaway locks and just yesterday I used the oil as a shaving cream, which left my legs silky smooth without the need to apply a moisturiser afterwards!

I’m finding this a very light oil but really packs a punch, with the skin feeling velvety smooth without feeling sticky or tacky which is really common with facial oils, there’s a very fine line. Try using a clarifying mask one evening then smooth over this oil, the next morning you’ll thank me – promise!

I’ve also read online that you can use Rosehip Oil to treat eczema, dermatitis and even as a cuticle oil to strengthen and hydrate nails so that’s next on my list to trial!
