Inspired by the weekly edits published by British Vogue, I thought I’d start to share my week in review as a way to further connect with you, my reader. I also would love to know what you’re doing, listening to and eating this week so please pop a comment below and share!
This last week was spent catching up on episodes from both The High Low with Dolly Alderton and Pandora Skyes, and Glow Journal with Gemma Watts. On Dolly and Pandora’s recommendation, I’m about to start reading Bridget Jones Diary to relive the 90’s once again through Bridget’s hilarious antics. I don’t recall previously reading the book, only watching the movie oh, a million times. I always had such a crush on Daniel Cleaver, or maybe it was just Hugh Grant?
In the nail studio of a weekend, I’ve playing the Spotify playlist ‘Work Chill’ by Helene Raynor but while I’m tapping away at the computer, I constantly have the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood soundtrack on repeat during the day while I dream about living life in carefree and fun 60’s…
I recently purchased a fresh supply of Ultra Violette but changed from the Queen Screen to the Supreme Screen SPF 50+ Hydrating Facial Sunscreen, and finally bit the bullet and bought The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (Previously Advanced Retinoid 2%), which came highly recommend by the internet.
Currently lusting over Estee Lalonde’s newest collection with Daisy London, while daydreaming about my two weeks of leave in late October and wondering if a quick jaunt to NYC or London may be in order? Either way, I am in desperate need of a pedicure as I’ve neglected my totsies for far too long this winter.
EAT & DRINK
My husband and I enjoyed the most beautiful brunch on Sunday at Hill Street – I of course chose the smashed avo – but this dish had so much extra flavour in the dukka and pesto, oh and maybe the side of bacon too. I’ve decided I’m over the taste of wine lately, and have deemed my drink of choice to be vodka + cranberry which is going down a treat. Add a slice of lime and it’s almost a cocktail in your kitchen.
We spent our Sunday wandering the local markets where I picked up a latte and some homemade kombucha, while we debated between a homemade carrot cake and an apple + rubarb cake – the apple won out – and smelt the delicious wafts of french style crepes from the food truck. Speaking of delicious, my husband made the most incredible vegetable lasagne without my favourite part in the cheese sauce and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. We’re always trying to increase our veggie intake, and this is one of the best ways to do in my book!
