How to Get Your Best Shampoo Yet

Leaving the hairdressers is one of the best feelings of ever, such freshy shiny hair and you just know you'll get an extra day or two out of your wash with a touch of dry shampoo, right? Our stylists give such a great hair washing experience that I can never seem to replicate at home, so I set out to fix this pronto.

I recently spoke with Rachel Hannah, one of Moroccanoil Hair Expert's and shared our chat below!

Hi Rachel, just how do our beloved hairdressers and stylists give such a great shampoo experience, and leave us so clean? Can we achieve this at home?

"Hairdressers love to give a good scrub at the basin allowing our quests to go to a different place. We make sure that we emulsify the shampoo with water first, then distribute evenly around the hair to get the perfect lather. Clients can also achieve this at home with the right shampoo and some education from their hairstylist on how to use it correctly."

What products should we consider having in our bathroom, and any products or ingredients we should avoid?

"Salon quality products are the only option, where you can trust every ingredient is of the highest quality. In the salon it also ensures the quality of our guest's hair before and after any chemical process. When it comes to ingredients you want to avoid products that have unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients, such as parabens and sulphates. In my salon I look to Moroccanoil for quality ingredients free from the the nasties and packed with the ingredients for overall healthier hair. You can always ask your stylist where ingredients are from."

Are pre-shampoo products like oils or serums worth the $$$?

"Absolutely!! The Moroccanoil Dry Scalp and Oily Scalp treatments are an absolute must if you suffer with these scalp concerns. Argan oil is also the signature ingredient in every single Moroccanoil product which is naturally super rich with vitamin E and essential fatty acids for healthy scalp and hair. The quality formulas absorb into the hair and scalp so they provide moisture and don’t build up, for me personally 100% worth the money!"

Here's to the week ahead, stay safe and enjoy!
